Where Paper Blooms:Quilling Decoration on a Tray
Crafting is not just a hobby—it’s a form of expression, and quilling has always held a special place in my creative journey. This time, I tried something new: quilling decoration on a utility tray, blending functionality with floral beauty. I had used quilling many times, first started my journey with making of Rakhees.Recently I had shared the clock I made using quilling decoration. Now tried similar on a tray.
Here it is:

The Idea Behind the Quilling decoration on Tray:
Trays are often overlooked when it comes to decoration. So I thought—why not add some intricate paper art to transform a simple tray into a piece of art?Quilling decoration is lightweight, vibrant, and incredibly versatile. Unlike painting or decoupage, it adds a 3D dimension and intricate texture, instantly elevating the aesthetics of any base—wood, acrylic, or paper.
Using shades of orange, beige, and green, I created this quilling floral composition, arranged in a corner-flow layout. The delicate swirls, tight coils, and blooming flowers add a touch of handcrafted charm.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest touches that add the biggest charm.
This tray is one such piece—brought to life with delicate quilling decoration, blending soft curves, floral forms, and intricate details. The warm tones of orange, cream, and olive green create a beautiful harmony, while the tiny pearls and butterflies add a whisper of whimsy.
Here are the closer views of the flowers I made to decorate the tray:

Set against a clear acrylic base, this tray isn’t just functional—it’s a conversation starter, a gentle celebration of handmade beauty.
Whether placed on a table or used as a gift, this piece reminds us how paper—so simple—can become something extraordinary.
