Rosette Pattern Tatted Doily
I recently completed my seventh doily in the Rosette pattern, a beautiful design I found on the Tat a Renda blog. Each time I tat this pattern, I discover something new — a better rhythm in the chains, neater joins, or simply the joy of seeing the floral motifs come alive in thread.

The doily
Two I gave as gifts to my friends. This is tatted with Doli 20tkt thread. I am sharing one more photo of this just to give color combination.

This Rosette pattern tatted doily is worked in seven motifs connected seamlessly. The floral rosette in the center of each motif gives the piece an elegant lace-like texture, while the outer rings create a delicate frame. For this version, I used purple for the rosettes and a light aqua blue for the connecting lace, which blend beautifully against the background. The color contrast highlights the depth of the design and makes it look vibrant and lively.
Tatting this pattern feels meditative — every loop and knot adds to the symmetry. It’s fascinating how such a traditional technique can produce designs that look both classic and modern. I truly enjoy working on Tat a Renda’s patterns because of their precision and grace.
This doily can be used as a table centerpiece, a decorative panel, or even adapted into lace inserts for sarees or blouses. Each version adds a unique charm to the space or garment it adorns.
