Art Journal – Part 2
In the last post, I had shared about few pages of the art journal I made. This is the second part of that.
Exploring Pages 5 to 10
Every page in this art journal is created like a tiny keepsake — layered with textures, distressed edges, floral embellishments, and thoughtful journaling spaces. Here is a closer look at Pages 5 to 10.
Page 5 – Vintage Envelope Pocket Layout

The envelope page
This page has a soft vintage diary feel. The background is created using stencil-style doily patterns in soothing pastel tones. On top of it, a simple white envelope is placed — but it is not plain. The edges are beautifully distressed with brown ink, giving it that aged parchment look.
A small decorative card with an ornate die-cut frame is tucked into the envelope, making it perfect for:
✔ storing handwritten notes
✔ private journaling
✔ miniature photographs
✔ ticket stubs or tiny keepsakes
This page is all about memories that stay hidden but close to the heart.
Page 6 – Layered Florals & Sentiment Embellishments

The floral page
This page has a cheerful and modern look with bold chevron patterned paper as the base. The layered matte frames provide space to attach photographs or quotes.
Handcrafted paper flowers add softness and depth to the page. Small sentiment tags such as “Live in the Moment” reinforce the positive, reflective mood of the layout.
There’s also a small tag pocket element — ideal for journaling snippets or inspirational words. This page celebrates:
✨ blooming moments
✨ joyful memories
✨ gratitude
It feels lively yet thoughtfully composed.
Page 7 – Elegant Lace-Edge Vintage Spread
Pages 7 and 8 form a double-spread layout, designed in refined vintage style.
This page features:
-
Soft textured background paper
-
Decorative lace-style border punch work
-
A wooden-tone center strip
-
Small floral cluster embellishments
-
A meaningful word element — “MEMORIES”
The lace edging on both sides softens the design, making it graceful and feminine.
This page feels like a doorway — a symbolic entry into treasured memories.

Page 8 – Floral Journal & Photo Space

Circular shape notes
Page 8 continues the romantic theme with floral and handwritten script backgrounds. The contrast of dark patterned paper adds richness and depth.
Key elements include:
✔ Black matte area — perfect for photographs
✔ A scalloped journaling piece shaded in yellow-orange tones
✔ Yellow handmade paper flowers adding texture
The combination of script, flowers, and warm tones makes this layout feel nostalgic — almost like reading an old letter.
Page 9 – Playful Bird-Print Collage Layout

The last page
This page has a charming and whimsical touch with bird-print background paper. The colourful birds bring joy and movement to the composition.
Decorative journal pieces and mini cut-outs add personality — including music-themed and vintage-style motifs. A rotated square photo matte creates visual interest and breaks symmetry in a pleasing way.
This page is perfect for:
🕊 nature lovers
🎶 music memories
💌 meaningful notes
It feels light-hearted and story-like.
Final Thoughts
Pages 5 to 10 continue the theme of memories, emotions, colours, and textures, each page telling its own quiet story. Distressing, layering, floral elements, and journaling tags make this art journal not just a craft piece — but a personal treasure chest.
If you love mixed-media journaling, I hope these pages inspire you to experiment with:
✔ layers
✔ textures
✔ meaningful embellishments
✔ vintage colour palettes
