Grace and Glory: Varamahalakshmi Decoration with Quilling Art
Varamahalakshmi Vrata,
a festival celebrated with devotion and elegance, is an important occasion for many households in South India. On this day, Goddess Lakshmi — the harbinger of wealth, prosperity, and wellbeing — is worshipped with grandeur. Homes are adorned with vibrant decorations, and altars are embellished to welcome the Goddess. I have already shared about many types of decorations in my blog. In this post, I’m excited to share one of my favorite creations — a framed photo of Goddess Lakshmi beautifully enhanced with quilling art. This decorative piece blends spirituality with creativity, making it a unique addition to Varamahalakshmi celebrations.

The quilling decoration
The Quilling Details
Surrounding the photo is an intricate quilled floral arrangement, composed of shades of violet, purple, white, and olive green. These flowers are not just decorative but symbolize devotion and grace — echoing the qualities of the Goddess herself.
-
Floral clusters on three sides create a symmetrical visual balance.
-
Pearl embellishments add a divine sparkle, elevating the richness of the frame.
-
Swirling tendrils and leafy motifs in quilling paper lend a touch of dynamic elegance, symbolizing the continuous blessings that flow from the Goddess.
This Varamahalakshmi decoration is ideal for pooja rooms or gifting. It’s a permanent keepsake that can adorn your home altar year-round.

This artwork is more than just a craft — it is my heartfelt tribute to Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of abundance, grace, and divine femininity. Through every coil, curl, and color, I’ve poured my devotion and creativity into this piece, blending tradition with art.
Each quilled flower represents a prayer, each swirling vine a symbol of blessings that flow endlessly. The vibrant shades of purple and green reflect spiritual richness and growth, while the pearls and fine details capture the elegance and serenity that the Goddess inspires in our lives.
Creating this frame was a meditative experience — a moment where art met spirituality. As I shaped each petal and placed them around the image of Lakshmi, it felt like adorning the deity with garlands woven from pure intention and joy.
This is not just a Varamahalakshmi decoration. It is a sacred offering from my hands and heart, a lasting reminder of the divine presence that guides, protects, and nurtures us every day.Whether you’re a crafter or a devotee, creating such floral arrangements can be a soulful experience, adding a personal and spiritual touch to your Varamahalakshmi celebration.
May Goddess Lakshmi bestow blessings to us.
Love, Laugh and Live the life to the fullest,
-Ranjana
