Handcrafted Ocean Resin Lamp Inspired by the Beauty of the Sea
Introduction
Nature has always been one of my biggest inspirations while creating resin art. Recently I had made a lamp with dried flowers. I got one more order to create resin lamp with occen theme.This handcrafted ocean resin lamp is an attempt to capture the calming beauty of sea waves inside a piece of resin. The glowing turquoise water, foamy white waves, real seashells, pebbles, and coral together create the feeling of looking into a miniature ocean. When illuminated, the lamp transforms into a mesmerizing piece of coastal décor that instantly draws attention.

How I made this occen theme lamp:
Materials Used
- Epoxy resin
- Resin pigments in ocean blue, turquoise, and white
- LED lamp base
- Silicone mould
- Real seashells
- Decorative pebbles
- Artificial coral pieces
- Mixing cups and sticks
- Heat gun or torch for removing bubbles
Creating the Ocean Effect
The most exciting part of this project was recreating realistic sea waves. Multiple shades of blue resin were carefully blended to give the illusion of varying ocean depths. White resin was then used to create foamy waves flowing towards the shore. Achieving a natural wave pattern required patience and several layers, but the final effect beautifully resembles the movement of real seawater.

Decorating with Seashells and Coral
To make the lamp feel like a real piece of the ocean, I embedded carefully selected seashells, tiny pebbles, and coral elements into the resin. Each shell was placed thoughtfully so that every section of the lamp tells its own little story of the seashore.
The Magic Happens When the Lamp Glows
The true beauty of this ocean resin lamp comes alive after switching on the LED light. The illumination enhances the transparency of the resin, making the waves appear deeper and the shells glow softly beneath the surface. The lighting creates an almost magical underwater atmosphere, making the artwork look completely different from its appearance during the day.
Challenges During the Process
Creating a large resin artwork always comes with challenges. Controlling air bubbles, maintaining the perfect resin thickness, preserving the clarity of the waves, and positioning the decorative elements without movement required careful planning. Waiting patiently for each layer to cure was equally important for achieving a professional finish.
