Renew old silk saree

This week the WIP is -renew an old silk saree. This is my mother’s saree. When it comes to old silk saree, many people convert it to pillow covers, bags or dress etc. But many memories are with a saree. So I don’t like to convert old silk saree to any other thing. Rather, I prefer to give it a new look. Once we renew an old silk saree, the redesigned saree can be worn at least for 5-10 years.

I normally use screen printing or embroidery to redesign an old saree.  Sometimes by attaching matching border or fabric also give new look an old silk saree.

The old silk saree, I have taken up for renewing is my mother’s saree. I want to wear the saree. But the saree border is not in good condition, so I have bought matching fabric and attaching it as a border. Still some embroidery work has to be done on this saree.

Envelope making with distress ink techniques:

Meanwhile made some envelopes using distress ink and stamping. I have already shared some beautiful projects made using distress in technique. Here are the envelopes I made recently:
