Tatted Doily Lace Pattern – Tat-a-Renda Design in Vibrant Colors
Tatting has always fascinated me with its delicate lacework and endless design possibilities. This tatted doily is one such creation that combines color, symmetry, and intricate craftsmanship to form a beautiful decorative piece. The pattern is from Tat-a-Renda, a well-known source of creative and inspiring tatting designs.Every now and then, a tatting project comes along that feels less like “just lacework” and more like painting with threads. This tatted doily, made from a Tat-a-Renda pattern, is one such project — a kaleidoscope of loops, rings, and picots that merge into a mesmerizing circular lace.

My tatted doily from pattern from Tat-A-Renda:
This is not the first doily I am tatting , from Tat-A-Renda. I have tatted same doily. My friend had gifted me the thread, which is multicolor. I used the thread to make this another doily:

The doily
This doily was made using a single ball of variegated cotton tatting thread in shades of golden yellow, leafy green, and rich purple. The colour changes occur gradually within the thread itself, so as you tat each ring or chain, the hues melt into one another. The thread is peral cotton. I never tatted with pearl cotton. In between thread was getting cut. I thought of stopping the process of making the doily. But still though the threead nd my efforts eill be wasted. So continued and made.
Here is the closer view:

Closer view
At the end I loved the multicolr thread. Using a multi-colour thread changes the tatting rhythm — instead of pausing for colour changes, the focus is on tension and consistency to let the colour flow shine. Watching the colours emerge through the pattern felt like watching a time-lapse of a flower blooming — unpredictable yet perfectly harmonious.
