Choosing the Herringbone Stitch for the Kurti Neck Design
Here is the embroidery work on Kurti I just completed.

Planning the Floral Hand Embroidery Design
The kurti is made from pure cotton fabric with a checked pattern. Since the fabric already has a strong geometric look, I wanted to add a contrasting embroidery design. Kutch work would have been a beautiful choice for this fabric, but I decided to go with a floral design to create a softer contrast.
I selected the floral pattern and got it professionally traced onto the fabric. Since the neckline design itself is quite long and detailed, I avoided adding extra motifs inside the kurti. This helped keep the overall design balanced without making it look too crowded.
Selecting Thread Colors for the Blue Kurti:

The fabric has a purple border, so I chose purple thread as one of the main colors for the embroidery. To create a beautiful contrast with the purple, I paired it with cream-colored thread. Both are Anchor cotton embroidery skeins.
For the leaves and stems in the floral design, I used Anchor variegated thread in shades of green. The changing shades of green add depth to the leaves and stems and help highlight the floral embroidery beautifully against the blue checked fabric.
The stitch used is herringbone stitch on entire design. Here is the closer view of the embroidry:

Just to add some little extra enhancement , I stuck the the pearlized beads on the centre of the flowers. I will pair it up with purple bottom and purple duppatta. What do you opine?
