Design of the week- Arabic Design for Fabric Painting

I could not share design patterns since few weeks. This week sharing design pattern for fabric painting. I have already shared one mandala design pattern for fabric painting. Another one is also mandala design pattern, mandala inside a square pattern.

This week sharing an Arabic design pattern. Arabic design patterns are extensively used as Mehandi designs. In Arabic or Mughal designs small designs repeats all over with a symmetry. Mughal designs are seen in many ancient monuments. In North India, weavers use this Arabic design patterns in weaving fabric and sarees.One such kind of fabric is Banarasi Silk.In Jamdani sarees too Arabic or Mughal designs are used, but the motifs in Jamadani are geometrical, instead of floral.Even in block prints Arabic designs are used.

I’m sharing Arabic design inspired, design pattern for fabric painting. Here is the design:

Floral Arabic design pattern for fabric painting

This can be used for embroidery too. I have chosen this for fabric painting . I have tried this design using pearl colors. This is how it looks. I have painted only one side of the design.

Trial of fabric painting using the design pattern

This design can be used for border of a saree and motifs on dresses. I’m planning to design a saree with this design.
