Work In Progress On Wednesday- Kutchwork Embroidery on sarees

I’m slowly getting back to embroidery. Though I keep sharing free embroidery designs , I coudn’t take out  time to work on hand embroidery.  I love to design a saree with all over embroidery on it. But hand embroidery is very time consuming. After many years, starting  embroidery works on sarees.

I have chosen , Kutchwork on these sarees, as these are Ilakal sarees. Kutchwork and Kasuti embroidery gowell with Ilakal sarees. The designs are transferred on the sarees. I got it transferred from a professional, who transfers embroidery designs. If the embroidery design is on dress, the design can be transferred using carbon paper. For sarees it is better to get it done by professionals.

Here are the sarees, with design transferred on it:

The saree color is blue and the border has magenta and gold combination. I will use , same color silk threads. It will definitely take time to complete this embroidery. 

The another one is , with golden color border, with small motifs along  the border.

On this I will be using golden and blue combination. Going to try mirror work too. Hope to complete this work little early, as the designs are simple. 

Last week , I had shared about making a quilt as WIP. That is completed.
