Graceful Elegance: Peacock Kutchwork Saree in Royal Purple
Kutchwork never tires me. The more I do kutchwork, the more it inspires to makeit again. Here is the saree I designed for my sister for this Deepavali.

The saree
This elegant saree is a beautiful blend of tradition and craftsmanship, designed with intricate Peacock Kutchwork motifs. The highlight of this saree lies in the rich, hand-embroidered details — every stitch adding a royal charm to the deep purple base.
Design & Motif

The Motif
The saree features stunning peacock motifs, a timeless symbol of grace and beauty. Each motif is carefully created using the traditional Kutchwork embroidery technique, known for its geometric precision and mirror-like lattice stitch patterns. The central paisley shape blooms gracefully into a peacock form, creating a fusion of floral and avian beauty.Inner side of the saree, I have embroidered small basic motifs of Kutchwork.
Color Combination
The color palette is as mesmerizing as the design itself — the vibrant shades of turquoise blue, bright green, and golden yellow stand out beautifully against the royal purple fabric. The contrast makes the motifs appear radiant, almost like jewels adorning the drape.

The elegance when draped
Thread Work
The embroidery is done using bullet silk thread, which gives a fine sheen and smooth texture to the design. The slight shimmer of the thread enhances the motif’s richness, especially under light, giving it a luxurious finish.
Pallu & Layout
One of the main specialties of this saree is the one-side pallu design, adorned with five peacock Kutchwork motifs arranged in perfect rhythm. This alignment gives the saree a continuous flow of beauty when draped, ensuring that every pleat and fall displays artistry.

Elegance in Draping
When worn, the saree drapes elegantly — the motifs align gracefully along the shoulder and pleats, making it perfect for festive occasions, cultural gatherings, or evening events. The combination of detailed handwork and color harmony makes it a statement piece that celebrates Indian hand embroidery in its finest form.
