Work In Progress On Wednesday- Cross Stitch On Saree

This is the first time I am using cross stitch on saree. Otherwise cross stitch is a very easy stitch, I think most of us have tried cross stitch to decorate fabric. I had many designs using cross stitch, while I was learning embroidery during my school days. Earlier these were done on matty fabric. But now we get designs in the market. Anchor has come up with many designs which are very easy to make. My mother had embroidered a horse picture using cross stitch on a big canvas. She had made one more for me, for which I have to fill the background using cotton skeins, which is another work in progress for me :).

This week I have started , cross stitch embroidery on a saree. The designs are transferred. I am embroidering on two sarees.

Both I haven’t decided thread type or thread color. I am planning to do this cross stich on saree using silk threads. I might use some Kundans and Zari threads. Hope it will look good.
